International Peace Movement: Not by Force but by Art

On the occasion of the global observance of the UNESCO World Radio Day linked with the observance of Mother Tongue Day In February with the partnership of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) headed by Dir. Gen. Harold Clavite, the Earthsavers Movement founded by Former Senator and Congressman Heherson Alvarez honored as the 6th in the world as a UNESCO Dream Center is organizing its local observance in Santiago City through a public media forum on the theme of “Dialogue, Tolerance and Peace”. It will be held through the cooperation of City Mayor Joseph Tan at the Balai na Santiago on the 13th of February as a special World Radio Day Kapihan from 8:30 to 11:30 am.

We are inviting your crucial participation to highlight our province salute to the broadcasting industry and multi sectoral dynamic use of radio to promote a culture of peace, climate justice with disaster resillience and sustainable development. We hope for your valuable presence in this significant public discussion.

The main resolution for the Philippine celebration was sponsored by Senator Cynthia Villar and the counterpart in congress was sponsored by Congressman Gary Alejano. The national event has been held in the senate were the dialogue was complemented with the awarding ceremony of the Legends of Radio and 4 special citations on February 6 at the Senate Pecson Room with the partnership of the Liga ng mga Brodkasters and the National Press Club. The local observance of World Radio Day was sponsored in Santiago City by former Councilor Hexilon Alvarez.
