One UN radio campaign on peace, tolerance and dialogue - Pakistan

World Radio Day -2019 is selected as a joint UN activity in the One Voice Plan 2019 of the United Nations Pakistan. UNESCO Islamabad together with UN Resident Coordinator (UNRC) Office and UN Information Center (UNIC) Pakistan is taking part in a 'One UN mini radio campaign on peace, tolerance and dialogue'. The campaign includes interviews, panel discussion and audio/video messages.

Interview with Radio Pakistan: UN Resident Coorindator Pakistan Mr. Neil Buhne and UNESCO Representative Pakistan Ms. Vibeke Jensen's joint interview with Radio Pakistan to be aired on Feb 13 on the theme of promoting dialogue and uniting for common concerns. 

Key event with Radio Pakistan- 13 February 2019: UNIC is supporting  Radio Pakistan to organize an event on the World Radio Day on 13 Feb where UNRC shall participate as a key note speaker, while recorded messages from the senior UNESCO officials and Department of Global Communications will be contributed.

 

Youth focused Live talk show with FM 100 - 12 February 2019: FM100 Radio will broadcast a dedicated LIVE Radio Talk Show on 12th Feb 2019 (Tuesday) from 8-10 pm focusing on Radio's role for promoting Dialogue, Tolerance & Peace" in community. A senior expert from UNDP and young volunteers from UNESCO and UNDP's projects will take part in the programme and will share their thoughts and could also interact with the listeners during the show.

 

Panel discussion in Urdu with Radio Pakistan- 13 February 2019: UNESCO and UNIC National staff member will take part in the panel along with other stakeholders to high light the role of radio in reaching remote communities and increasing inclusiveness in public debate.
