Sudan Celebration of World Radio Day on 13 February 2019

UNESCO Khartoum is going to outline the positive impact of radio, demonstrated through the Community Radio Service project which helped develop rural communities and spread awareness about important issues facing them, in collaboration with UNESCO partners.
Sudan has been celebrating World Radio Day since 2016, with participation of UNESCO Khartoum partners locally and internationally. UNESCO Khartoum has very strong links with the federal and state Ministries of Information as well as the National TV & Radio Broadcasting Corporation and their state level counterparts, Through the generous donation from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), UNESCO Khartoum was able to achieve great results in the Community Service Radio project targeting rural communities in the eastern states of Sudan, through seventy one messages among which promotion of dialogue and . Evaluation workshops conducted recently reflected the very positive impact of radio broadcasting in community members' quality of life, innovation and sustainability as well as empowerment of women.
