Audience Engagement Policies
Do you have an Audience Engagement Policy? In this section, you will find resources and case studies on how you can truly involve your audience in your radio station's broadcasting policies. This section is of particular benefit to community radio stations.
Community Radio Toolkit
UNESCO World Radio Day partners, Radio Regen and Community Radio Toolkit have a fantastic resource for Community Radio Stations on Audience Engagement policies.
The toolkit contains step-by-step information about an evaluation technique that will help you to find out more about your listeners and the effectiveness of your station in achieving its goals. It provides information and expertise to measure audience listener figures and to assess the impact that you are having on your community of listeners.
Here's what you need to do to run through the toolkit:
- commit some staff time to the process
- organise a group of local volunteers to help with a street listener survey
- and – if you can deliver the project in partnership with a community radio station near to you, this will give your results added credibility.
The Ethical Journalism Network have created an infographic for ensuring migrants are engaged at all levels of reporting in the news. The infographic can be put up in your radio station. More information here.
