Vietnam

Voice of Vietnam held a special broadcast with UNESCO. VOV President Nguyen The Ky said, “The World Radio Day‘s theme of “Radio is YOU" is the idea of a diverse, healthy and humane radio sector, emphasizing audiences` participation and interactivity. The UNESCO Bangkok office celebrated World Radio Day with a competition - "To celebrate World Radio Day 2017, the UNESCO Bangkok Office is organising an Asia-Pacific social media competition, with the winner invited to write a guest blog to be published on our website and shared across the Internet." Find out more here.

UNESCO World Radio Day committee members, The European Broadcasting Union, have officially launched the new .radio top level domain name at an event in Shanghai on World Radio Day 2017. Alain Artero, .radio project manager and EBU Head of Radio Graham Dixon invited officials present at the event to symbolically "push the button" in from of journalists and photographers.

Pakistan

During a talk show, UNESCO Representative to Pakistan, Ms. Vibeke Jensen, and Director of United Nations Information rasioCentre, Mr. Vittorio Cammarota, stressed the importance for a greater participation of audiences and communities in the policy and planning of radio broadcasting.  Click here to read more.
